I love the way all this colour explodes out of the black, such clarity, gorgeous. I enjoyed the poem, the shower ritual and sluicing, what a lovely word.
Marion: This is just about my earliest memory -- at three or four, playing in the yard and waiting for my dad to make it home, then following him into the basement to wash away the coal dust ... I think I dream of this some nights....
Marion: My memory is awkwardly selective. I remember the look and smell and feel of the world from when I was four or five, but the things that happened last week are a bit vague....
The colors are so beautiful! My friend Besty would love this picture. Would you mind if I share it with her?
