it is a difficult photograph, james. it fills me with all sorts of apprehension, but then that's the point, isn't it? her sweet small cherub face juxtaposed by length of limb, the white space in severe contrast with dark - if ever there was a photograph as metaphor, this is it.

Yes, an adventure. Being that age, I started to earn money ironing clothes in a factory, made holidays abroad alone, wasn't too good at school.
