erin: i believe this is true: birds and birdsong and birdflight are a kind of speech, syllables in the word the world is speaking to us ... i may translate it poorly, but i yearn for that place, too (as you know :-)
"cormorant" is one of my favourite words :) and here,in this space without limits,it becomes even more powerful, even more curdled, even more ...flying:) very beautiful:)
Roxana: birds are endlessly fascinating ... are they not emissaries of our own longing for the two fading distances -- the one out there, and the one in here??
