Roxana it was an accident, really :-) i was trying to get a photograph of something else and hadn't even noticed this cormorant right under my feet, until it burst out whirring across the water, and i swung the camera like mad, shooting and thinking i had gotten nothing ... it surprises me how often the photographs that matter to me happen like this, unplanned, almost unintended :-)
this is one of your most astonishing photographs. it silences me, and fills me with awe.
